Located on historic Route 5 in the heart of the scenic Virginia Plantation Country, Charles City Tavern is housed in a circa 1889 farmhouse that sits on a 2,000 acre working farm.
We are located halfway between Richmond and Williamsburg,(25 miles from each city) and are 4 miles east from Berkeley Plantation,
8 miles east from Shirley Plantation and 12 miles west from Sherwood Forest Plantation
Our family-owned restaurant is located in the building that once housed a very popular restaurant called Indian Fields Tavern, that enjoyed a 20-year run “out here in the country”.
Charles City Tavern was established in 2007 after a major renovation of the dining rooms, screened-in porches, banquet room, rest rooms and kitchen.
